This page explains what cookies are, which ones the Cairnstone website uses, and how you can manage your preferences. It is written to be read by people who may not be familiar with how cookies work.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They allow the site to remember certain information — for example, whether you have already been shown a cookie notice — across different pages or visits. Cookies are not software programs and cannot carry viruses.

Cookies This Website Uses

Essential cookies — always active

These cookies are required for the basic operation of the website. Without them, certain features — such as the cookie preference banner and navigation — would not work. They cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies — optional

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the website — which pages are visited most, how long people spend reading, and whether they arrive via a search engine or a direct link. This helps us improve the site. We use these cookies only if you consent.

Marketing cookies — optional

Marketing cookies track whether a visitor has come from an advertisement, and support measurement of advertising campaigns. We do not run advertising for our own services at present, but these cookies may be placed by third-party platforms if you have consented to their use.

Preference cookies — optional

Preference cookies remember choices you make on the website, such as your preferred language. They make it possible for the site to remember your settings between visits.

Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Below are brief guides for common browsers.

Google Chrome

Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu in the top right. Go to SettingsPrivacy and securityCookies and other site data. From here you can block third-party cookies, clear existing cookies, or set exceptions for specific sites.

Mozilla Firefox

Open Firefox and click the three-line menu, then SettingsPrivacy & Security. Under Cookies and Site Data, you can manage cookie storage and clear existing data. The Enhanced Tracking Protection options offer additional control over third-party cookies.

Apple Safari

On macOS, go to SafariSettingsPrivacy. You can block all cookies or prevent cross-site tracking. On iOS, go to SettingsSafariPrivacy & Security and toggle Block All Cookies.

Microsoft Edge

Open Edge and click the three-dot menu → SettingsCookies and site permissionsCookies and data stored. You can manage tracking prevention levels and block or allow specific sites.

Mobile browsers

Most mobile browsers have cookie settings within the main app Settings menu. On Android, look within the browser's own settings. On iOS, Safari settings are within the iOS Settings app rather than within Safari itself.

Note: Disabling essential cookies may affect how the website functions. Disabling analytics cookies means we cannot measure how the site is used and improve it accordingly.

Your Rights

You have the right to withdraw your consent to optional cookies at any time using the controls on this page. Withdrawing consent does not affect any data already processed while consent was active. For questions about how we handle your data more broadly, please see our Privacy Policy.
