Three families, three different situations
Case 01 · Document Location Register
A household with decades of unsorted paperwork
Situation
A family in Alor Setar had inherited a house from a grandparent whose papers had never been properly sorted. Documents dated back to the 1970s and were stored in multiple containers across three rooms, with no clear system.
What Cairnstone Did
A Document Location Register session was completed over two separate visits of approximately two hours each. Each container was worked through systematically and items recorded by category. Duplicates and conflicting copies were noted separately.
Outcome
The family received a printed register covering 47 document items. The family's solicitor was able to begin the estate administration process immediately, without requesting additional sessions to locate documents. The register was completed within ten days of the initial enquiry.

Case 02 · Multi-Property Compilation
Records across three states, four siblings
Situation
After both parents passed within eighteen months of each other, four adult siblings were left to manage an estate that included property in Kedah, Perak and Perlis. No single sibling had a complete picture, and each had different documents in their own homes.
What Cairnstone Did
The Multi-Property Compilation Programme covered four collection visits across three states. Archival scanning was agreed for the Kedah documents. The unified index reconciled twelve instances where different siblings held what appeared to be conflicting copies of the same title.
Outcome
Each sibling received a physical folder set for their branch of the family. The registered estate planner engaged by the family estimated that the unified index reduced their initial research time by approximately six to eight weeks. The programme ran for fourteen weeks in total.

Case 03 · Family Records Workshop
A masjid committee seeking to help its congregation
Situation
A masjid in Kubang Pasu had seen several situations where bereaved families struggled with basic paperwork. The education committee wished to offer members some general knowledge about documentation processes before the need arose.
What Cairnstone Did
A two-hour Family Records Education Workshop was delivered at the masjid's own premises on a Saturday morning. Thirty-eight members attended, ranging in age from their thirties to their eighties. Printed booklets in both English and Malay were distributed, along with blank register templates.
Outcome
Eleven participants subsequently contacted Cairnstone individually to arrange a Document Location Register session for their own households. The masjid committee has since booked a follow-up session for a further group of members who were unable to attend the first workshop.
